Jesus Christ is Mighty God

S

imple and Clear: “But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away” (2 Corinthians 3). Let’s take baby steps before we dig in too deep and try to understand the connections first, which show the omnipresence of God, an important attribute that Jesus Christ also possesses. If we live in Christ, whether it's on a personal level (as an individual), in marriage or together as a Church - God is there, take a look.

A Person

Your own body (flesh) is subject to your spirit. It is the spirit that should have authority over the body. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires (Galatians 5:24). For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God (Romans 8:14).

A Marriage

Marriage is God’s design and creation; it has structure and order:  the wife should submit to the husband. The husband is the head of the family. The head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God (1 Corinthians 11:3).

The Church

It is Christ who is the head of the body, the church (John 8:31). For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building (1 Corinthians 3:9)“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18:19–20.).

How Jesus Christ Is Mighty God

  • His Divine Attributes: He is eternal (John 1:1; 8:58; 17:5); omnipresent (Matt 28:20; Eph 1:23); omniscient (John 16:30; 21:17); immutable (Hebrews 1:12; 13:8).
  • His Divine Offices: He is the creator (John 1:3; Col 1:16) and sustainer (Col 1:17).
  • His Divine Prerogatives: Forgave sin (Matt 9:2; Luke 7:47); Raised the dead (John 5:25; 11:25)
  • His Divine Names: Alpha and Omega (Rev 22:13); I AM (John 8:58); Immanuel (Matt 1:22); Son of Man (Matt 9:6; 12:8); Lord (Matt 7:21; Luke 1:43); Son of God (John 10:36); God (John 1:1; 2 Peter 1:1).
  • Accepts Worship (Matt 14:33; 28:9; John 20:28-29).
The Old Testament Confirms

A prophecy: The word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares:

They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son (Zechariah 12:10).

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

The New Testament Confirms

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14 And The Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1-14).

Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. (John 14: 9-13)

Who, being in very nature a God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature  of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself (Phil 2: 5-8).

And, as another Scripture says: “They will look on the One they have pierced.” (John 19:37).

The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. (1 Cor 15:47).

Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”) (Matt 1:23).

Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory (1 Tim 3:16).

our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness (Titus 2:13).Apostle

Key Takeaways:

Understand, Innerstand and Overstand

Both the humanity and deity of Jesus Christ are an essential part of His being. Furthermore, he was indeed the perfect exemplar of humility for the glory of God.

God was fully manifest in the flesh (a human body – sometimes referred to as temple, tabernacle, vessel) of a person called Jesus. The scripture tells us that God, The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. (John 1:14).

God is the only one that can remove the veil for anyone to fully comprehend that

The Word = Jesus = God = Holy Spirit:

As such, “this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven” (Matthew 16:13-20). None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Corinthians 2:8).
