False Teachers and The Prosperity Gospel
et’s start first by learning what false prosperity gospel (aka the gospel of success, seed faith, or word of faith) is all about and its origin. Prosperity gospel is an absolute perversion of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is false theology since it contains distorted, twisted, perverted and manipulated scripture. This false doctrine is designed to benefit the teacher financially while misleading people to hell because of lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).
Prosperity gospel is taught by charismatic preachers who show an exuberant display of wealth in a conspicuous way. It`s the luxury cars, designer brands, private jets that these preachers have and display ostentatiously. Lots of people are deceived by this and have become gullible due to envy, greed and covertness. Unfortunately, so many people have fallen and continue falling into this deceiving trap.
This false doctrine focuses particularly on excessive tithing and prayers for wealth, good health, or better yet: “name it and receive it” blessings from God. The bigger your tithe, the bigger blessings you will receive is the doctrine’s despicable concept. But here’s what so many people do not know:
God or Money
You cannot worship what was created but worship the creator and that is God Almighty. People are indeed worshiping these charismatic false teachers or pastors by blindly idolizing them. They have duped people with exuberant display of wealth which actually comes from the people who worship them.
God allows anyone to be wealthy. It is wrong biblical teaching that only the rich are blessed by God. Do not be deceived by this perversion of the Word of God. Listen, when Jesus stopped to heal a blind beggar, his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him (John 9:1-12).
False Teachers
False Teachers (aka False Prophets, Spiritual Fathers / Spiritual Mothers, God Mothers etc.,) have been around since early writing of the first gospel but have spread around the world in an unprecedented way. They are often very good orators, public speakers and they speak eloquently so therefore, are able to convince huge crowds. Adolf Hitler was an excellent orator, so just look at his influence and the evil he created which is still being felt to this today. The bible warns us:
For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time (Matthew 24:24-5).
And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep (2 Peter 2:3).
False teachers know how to deceive people with wealth through prosperity gospel teachings. Many people are drawn to their charisma and false teaching about money, riches and wealth. The bible says: For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1 Timothy 6:6-11).
Only One Spiritual Father
We only have one spiritual father. Do not call anyone on earth [who guides you spiritually] your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven (Matthew 23:9).
The scriptures also tell us we have one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all (Ephesians 4:6).
For we have one Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) and that one mediator is Jesus Christ. A mortal person cannot have the title of Spiritual Father; therefore, you absolutely cannot have a spiritual father, spiritual saint or spiritual mother besides Jesus Christ. The one to follow, bow to, kneel to, and worship is Jesus Christ for the glory of God.

False teachers teach a perverted gospel, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people (2 Timothy 3:5). Do not call any person your Spiritual Father / Papa (Matthew 23:9).
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit (Matthew 7:15-20).
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord (Ephesians 5:6).
